Ridge

One of the highlights of our wine tasting trip was getting to taste 1991 Monte Bello. It was really great and an unexpected treat.

2008 Jimsomare Chardonnay
Crisp, balanced, not too impressive but still good

2008 Paso Robles Zinfandel
Lighter, nice red fruit, no spice

2008 Ponzo Zinfandel
Fruit up front but overall a bit closed.  Drinking well now with a little tannin

2007 Carmichael Zinfandel
Big, jammy, concentrated red and black fruit with a hint of spice, light tannins, drinking well now

2008 Buchignani Carignane
From old vines, a very interesting wine, needs time in the bottle

2006 Monte Bello Cabernet Sauvignon
Beautiful dark color, tannins are big but smooth, rich fruit but still very closed down

1991 Monte Bello Cabernet Sauvignon
Brick red color shows the age, very complex, leather, dark black fruit, plum, very long, earthy finish

2007 Santa Cruz Mountains Estate Cabernet
Made from the fruit that doesn't make the cut for Monte Bello
Nice fruit, masked by big tannins, needs lots of time
